Hayylo Adapter Installation Guide

Purpose

This page outlines the instructions for a typical Hayylo Adaptor installation. For more information about the Hayylo Adapter, please see the article: What are the Hayylo Adaptor virtual machine and account requirements?

 

Prerequisites

  • Hayylo-built adaptor for your account in the form of an MSI file

  • Virtual machine (Windows) with remote access available to Hayylo staff and local network access to your SQL Server host

  • Windows service account for the adaptor to run as. This account will require the following permissions:

    • R/O access to the relevant SQL Server database

    • "Logon as a service"

    • Member of the local groups: Performance Monitor Users, Performance Log Users

    • Local filesystem write permission

  • Confirmation of the correct SQL Server host and database for the installation

 

Install the Hayylo Adaptor

  1. Run the MSI file

    1. From within the installation environment, double-click to open the MSI

    2. Click Next

    3. Select the installation folder then click next

      1. You can select browse to choose a new location for the installation if required

    4. Confirm installation by clicking next

  2. Complete the Setup Settings

    1. In the Service Setup Setting screen, Confirm the Instance ID and Description (provided by Hayylo)

    2. Select Windows Authentication

      1. As service account is required for the Hayylo Adaptor to authenticate with the target SQL database. This service account will require read only access to the relevant SQL database / Server

    3. Enter the SQL Server Name

    4. Enter the database name

    5. Click next

    6. In the Windows Authentication dialog pop-up click OK

    7. In the installation complete dialog, click close

  3. Link Service Account

    1. From the desktop, search Services and select to open the Windows Services App

    2. Find the Hayylo Adaptor service which was installed

    3. Right-click on the service and select properties

    4. On the Log-on tab, select This Account radio button

    5. Click Browse and search for the service account which will be used to login to the server while running the service

    6. Enter the password and confirm the user password

    7. Click Apply

    8. Click OK

  4. Start Service

    1. From the desktop, search Services and select to open the Windows Services App

    2. Find the Hayylo Adaptor service which was installed

    3. Right-click on the service and select Start
