How do I add Hayylo to my desktop?

Hayylo is a web based platform that you are able to access from your preferred web browser. For quick and easy access to Hayylo, users can create a custom desktop app or shortcut. The following instructions will guide you through how to create a desktop app icon for Hayylo in both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge and navigate to your Hayylo account

  2. Once you have the website open, click on the ellipsis menu (three dots) located at the top-right corner of the browser toolbar.

  3. From the menu that appears, select "Apps."

  4. In the Apps menu, you will see an option to "Install this site as an app." Click on this option to initiate the installation process.

  5. After selecting "Install this site as an app," Microsoft Edge will create the web app for the website. Once the installation is complete, the tab will close automatically, and the web app will open in a new window.

  6. The new app will be visible on your desktop and start menu. It will use the website's logo (favicon) saved on the tab as its default icon.

Updating the App Icon:

  1. Right-click on the newly created app's icon on your desktop.

  2. From the context menu that appears, select "Open file location." This will open the folder where the app's shortcut is located.

  3. In the folder, you will see the shortcut for the web app. Right-click on the shortcut and select "Properties."

  4. In the "Properties" window, make sure you are on the "Shortcut" tab.

  5. Click the "Change Icon" button.

  6. If you see a security prompt, click "OK."

  7. A new window will appear, showing a selection of icons. By default, it may show some system icons. If you want to use a custom icon, click "Browse" and navigate to the location of the icon file you want to use. We have included a Hayylo Icon in this article which you may use for the app icon.

  8. After selecting the icon, click "OK" and then "Apply" to save the changes.

  9. The icon for your web app should now be updated to the one you selected.

That's it! You have successfully created a web app for the "Hayylo" website using Microsoft Edge and updated its icon to your preferred image.

Google Chrome

1. Open Google Chrome and navigate to your Hayylo account.

2. Click on the three dots (...) in the top-right corner to open the Chrome browser.

3. In the menu, hover over "More tools," and then select "Create shortcut."

4. A pop-up window will appear, allowing you to customize the name of the shortcut. You can also check the box that says "Open as window" to ensure the website opens as a standalone app window without the browser interface.

5. Click "Create," and Chrome will create the shortcut on your desktop.

6. Now, close any open Chrome windows or tabs.

7. Right-click on the newly created shortcut on your desktop and select "Properties."

8. In the "Properties" window, make sure you are on the "Shortcut" tab.

9. Click the "Change Icon" button.

10. If you see a security prompt, click "OK."

11. A new window will appear, showing a selection of icons. By default, it may show some system icons. If you want to use a custom icon, click "Browse" and navigate to the location of the icon file you want to use. We have included a Hayylo Icon in this article which you may use for the app icon.

12. After selecting the icon, click "OK" and then "Apply" to save the changes.

Now, when you double-click the shortcut on your desktop, it should open the "Hayylo" website in a standalone app-like window, and the icon you selected should appear as the app's icon.

This method allows you to save a website as an app-like shortcut on your desktop using Google Chrome. The steps to change the icon may vary slightly based on your operating system and Chrome version, but the general process should be similar.
