Update to Visit Schedule Display: Service Components Now Shown Separately

Updated: July 2025

As part of recent improvements to the Hayylo platform, we've made a change to how visits appear in your schedule when multiple services are delivered as part of a single booking.

What's Changed?

Previously:
If a visit included multiple services (called "components" in the system), you would only see one visit entry in your schedule. Only a single service name would appear, and the other service components would be hidden.

Now:
Each individual service component is shown as a separate visit in your schedule — even though it is part of the same overall visit.

What You’ll See in the App

You may now see two or more visits with the same start time, end time, and worker — but with different service names.

For example:

ServiceStartsEndsDurationWorker
Medication8:00am8:30am30 minsPeter
Personal Care8:00am8:30am30 minsPeter

Even though this is actually one visit by Peter, the system now shows each service separately, so you can clearly see all services delivered.

Understanding Start and End Times for Service Components

When a single visit includes multiple services, each service component now appears as a separate entry in the schedule. These entries all share the same start time and worker, but each shows its own end time based on the duration of that service.

🔍 Example:

Peter is scheduled to visit at 9:00am to deliver three services during one 2-hour visit:

Service NameDurationComponent StartComponent End
Personal Care1 hour9:00am10:00am
Domestic Assistance30 minutes9:00am9:30am
Meal Prep30 minutes9:00am9:30am

Although this is one 2-hour visit by Peter, you’ll now see three separate entries, each showing:

  • Start Time: 9:00am (same across all components)

  • End Time: Calculated by adding the individual component's duration

  • Worker: Peter

🔎 Important Note:
The overall visit length is 2 hours, but each entry only reflects the duration of the specific service. This means you may see multiple visits with the same start time but different end times, depending on how long each service takes.

This update gives you a clearer view of exactly what services were delivered and for how long — even when they’re part of a combined visit.

Why This Matters

  • More detail for customers and staff – You now get full visibility of every individual service provided.

  • Smart Actions & Notifications – You may receive a separate notification for each service if a change is made to the booking (e.g., time or worker update).

  • Same time, same worker – It’s expected that visits may appear duplicated in time, but the service name and duration will help you understand the breakdown.

Behind the Scenes (for internal/back office users)

For each service component:

  • The start date and worker stay the same as the original visit.

  • The end time is calculated from the start time and the component’s duration.

  • The service name reflects the specific component (e.g., Personal Care, Medication).

  • A unique record ID is used for each visit component to maintain system integrity.

Common Questions

Why do some visits have the same start/end time and worker?
Because multiple services were delivered during the same appointment. Each is now shown individually so nothing is missed.

Will notifications increase?
Possibly. If the overall visit is updated, a notification may be triggered for each component (e.g., two alerts instead of one).

Do I need to do anything differently?
No – this is an automatic update to improve schedule visibility and service clarity.
